“Billion Group opens four-star Mthatha hotel”

South African property development company, Billion Group has ventured into hotel development with the opening of the four-star, R130-million ($10m) Mayfair Hotel in Mthatha, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

The three-storey hotel has 96 rooms and boasts a three-room penthouse, a two-room presidential suite, executive suites, normal suites, and several conferencing halls.

The Mayfair Hotel is targeting business and leisure travelers and offers up to 120-seater conferencing facilities.

The hotel is situated alongside the 60,000m² BT Ngebs City mall, which was the catalyst for the group’s ‘live-work-play precinct’ on the edge of Mthatha’s central business district.
